Peter van der Vlugt
Peter van der Vlugt is a real estate professional with ten years of experience across residential and investment transactions in Philadelphia and the surrounding region. In this time Peter has curated an expertise in the multifamily, mixed-use, and light commercial markets.
Peter’s career began in 2016 with the purchase of his first multifamily investment property. That early hands-on experience shaped his entrepreneurial approach to real estate and led him to work closely with investors seeking properties aligned with specific financial objectives and long-term portfolio strategies. Through this work, Peter developed a strong analytical framework for identifying assets with unique potential and navigating complex transactions with a human touch.
Peter was born in Philadelphia, and grew up in Swarthmore. He received a dual BA from the University of Vermont in Cultural Anthropology and Creative Writing. He now lives with his family near Clark Park in West Philadelphia. Peter is a dedicated father, lover of live music, nature, travel, and novel experience.

Mike Phillips
Michael Phillips is Co-founder and Principal of the Freedom CRE team at Compass.
During his 12+ years of real estate experience, Michael has become known for disciplined analysis, expert negotiation, and marketing that generates buyer competition. His expertise goes beyond the transaction, spanning acquisition strategy, sale positioning, and portfolio planning for owners and investors.
Prior to starting his real estate businesses, Michael earned his CPA and held an executive role at EY, where he managed financial engagements for casinos and institutional investment funds. Michael graduated from the University of Delaware with a dual degree in Accounting and Business Management.
Michael grew up at the South Jersey Shore and has lived in Greater Philadelphia his entire adult life. When he is not working, he enjoys park and weekend trips with his wife and kids, Philly sports, and getting out in nature.

Kelly Widman
Kelly Widman is Co-founder and Principal of the Freedom CRE team at Compass.
Over the course of his 12+ year real estate career, Kelly has led multimillion dollar acquisition / financing transactions and has developed a specialty in real estate brokerage, financial modeling, tax, zoning, and legal matters. Prior to starting work in real estate, he worked in private equity where he was a board member and officer of several middle-market companies. Before that, Kelly worked in investment banking focusing on financial institutions.
Kelly received an A.B. in Economics cum laude from Harvard College with a minor in Spanish.
